Pastor Douglas Shriner
Apr 20, 2018Douglas Shriner, age 72, of Canal Winchester, left his earthly home on Tuesday, April 10, 2018.He was surrounded by his loved ones when entering the Kingdom of Heaven. A longtime friend sang “Victory in Jesus” when God called him home.Doug was born on Feb. 11, 1946 in Logan, Ohio. He is a proud alumnus of Asbury College and earned his doctorate in theology in Dayton, Ohio. His greatest legacy is the lives he has forever changed as a servant of the Lord.Doug is survived by his wife, Donna; children, Marlene (John) Eymann, Linda (Matt) McAllister, Mark (Jill) Rockwell, and Kara (Marcus) Page; grandchildren, Maddie, Duke, Jacob, Abby, Ceci, Jullia, Mason, and Carson; mother, Mariam Shriner; and his sisters, Glenda (Tim) Huffman and Tammy (Jeff) Lutz.He was preceded in death by his father, Glendon Shriner.Friends may celebrate his life from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at the Dwayne R. Spence Funeral Home & Crematory, 650 W. Waterloo St., Canal Winchester, Ohio 43110, where a memorial service will follow at 3 p.m. with Pastor Maxine Smith-Pierce officiating.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Doug’s memory to St. Paul United Methodist Church, 22976 Ringgold Southern Road, Stoutsville, Ohio 43154. This church and their mission meant so very much to Doug. His greatest wish is to help them continue to do God’s work. (Logan Daily News)
